I read the news today oh boy! Page 574

He is a total arsehole that gets paid thousands and thousands of pounds of licence fee payers money to fanny around in sports cars and its sad he's got nothing better to do than criticise people who are having their lives ruined by a government that treats working class people like dirt

prick

I did not see the exchange, but from the BBC website;

It comes after an exchange, on Wednesday, in which Mr Clarkson presented two views when asked about that day's strike over pensions by public sector workers:

"I think they have been fantastic. Absolutely. London today has just been empty. Everybody stayed at home, you can whizz about, restaurants are empty," he said
"It's also like being back in the 70s. It makes me feel at home somehow," said the Top Gear presenter, before adding: "But we have to balance this though, because this is the BBC."
Mr Clarkson went on: "Frankly, I'd have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families. I mean, how dare they go on strike when they have these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living?"
When the presenters pointed out that these were Mr Clarkson's personal views, he said: "They're not. I've just given two views for you."
In his apology, Mr Clarkson said: "I didn't for a moment intend these remarks to be taken seriously - as I believe is clear if they're seen in context.

So do you agree that it was clearly a joke, or not?

Oh sorry, you didn't see it. From the transcript then?

Well I doubt he really would have people shot in front of their families. Probably.

The shooting them bit, yes, fairly obviously, but the statement as a whole an opinion deliberately exaggerated for comic effect, and it is less than clear from the transcript that it is Clarkson's own opinion (though it would not surprise me).

Even without him saying what he did (I was on strike btw), I think that the fact that he's a prick, tool, wanker, assole, cock and what ever other else you wish to add, is unquestioned.

Lol. He is essentially, a silly old twit. But I think often in a rather entertaining way.

So, aside from whether he's twit; should we be unsympathetic to the people whose pensions will be affected?

I'd like to set fire to his mercedes rape him and murder his children

only joking

Has he tried to get you fired yet?
Or get the law on to you?

Never really got the vitriol for Clarkson - I disagree with almost everything he says, but he says it entertainingly, and I suspect a degree of self-knowledge.

But where oh where can I buy a book/dvd about fast cars/guns/explosions in time for Christmas? If only someone who makes such a thing could draw attention to themselves in some way.

:D

;) Jeremys joke did't offend me, I've always hated the self-opinionated, overpaid twat.
