Gary Speed Page 4

IMO Not funny TB..

Just been listening to a BBC Radio interview with Peter Kay (Sporting Chance Clinic) who said that, since the sad demise of Gary Speed, he has been contacted by 10 (yes 10) pro footballers, with mental problems severe enough to warrant their contact with said clinic.

Not sure why I'm posting this.

Now people close to him are saying he *wasn't* depressed. Wishful thinking? Or can a person commit suicide without being depressed? This is confusing stuff.

Could be undiagnosed? Or I'm led to believe that a number of forms of depression take the form of extreme peaks and troughs of mood - and the extreme peaks as a result of his recent job success wouldn't necessarily look unusual.

I heard that and I'm not sure why he went on to discuss his clients in even the widest detail. Very unprofessional I thought.

Anyone who is interviewed on Radio Five Live Drive Live five should know by now that the interviewer is looking for the next news headline so as to out do Talk Sport.

As tonight with, whichever Mark's turn it was, asking 'across all the leagues including the Premiership?' No doubt hoping the reply would be 'all from the Premiership'. Cue next news.

Radio Five really has become shit radio.

As far as I know, an inquest has been opened and adjourned today, and all that is known is he was found hanged. Anything else is speculation. That means it remains speculation whether it was deliberate or accidental, and it remains speculation what the motives were either way. Is there any harm leaving it at that?

Re my post above . . . see what I mean ?

No.

I didn't intend it to be funny and I certainly did not mean any offence. If I have offended anyone - I'm sorry.

I would never make light of suicide, depression or people suffering from extreme anxiety or sadness. Trust me, I've been there and been at 'the point of no return' on several occassions.

Didn't offend me, TB..

Meanwhile.. his family and friends are crying their eyes out..

And unlikely to be reading a comedy forum at this time.

Well.. not this one..

..but..

Unfortunately, there's a whole "comedy forum" out there, zooo..

I think what the Coroner said was that there was not enough evidence either way to determine whether or not the act was deliberate or intentional hence the narrative verdict.

On the one hand . . . nothing at all

On the other, a text mentioning taking his own life, a barney with the Missus, she leaves for a drive and in the meanwhile he falls down stairs while trying to rewire the television connections.

I thought he hung himself in a garage?
