Ben Folds had really bad pneumonia a few years ago. So I'm quite used to musicians having it!
It never occurred to me they could be using it as a euphemism for anything else.
I read the news today oh boy! Page 571
So this Ben Folds, is he a shirtlifter?
Ha, nope. He has been through about 4 wives, but in a straight way...
So, perhaps he caught a cold on a particularly damp night on Hampstead Heath and it's developed into pneumonia ?
If George Michael dies, I hope you'll all feel very guilty!
Nope.
How nasty, no need for it.

I was mocking the tabloids theres diference!
Anyway I had no idea he was gay back in the 80s
"Practising yoga is Satanic, it leads to evil"
Father Gabriele Amorth, who for years was the Vatican's chief exorcist and claims to have cleansed hundreds of people of evil spirits, said yoga is Satanic because it leads to a worship of Hinduism and "all eastern religions are based on a false belief in reincarnation".
Reading JK Rowling's Harry Potter books is no less dangerous, said the 86-year-old priest, who is the honorary president for life of the International Association of Exorcists, which he founded in 1990, and whose favourite film is the 1973 horror classic, The Exorcist.
The Harry Potter books, which have sold millions of copies worldwide, "seem innocuous" but in fact encourage children to believe in black magic and wizardry, Father Amorth said.
"Practising yoga is Satanic, it leads to evil just like reading Harry Potter," he told a film festival in Umbria this week, where he was invited to introduce The Rite, a film about exorcism starring Sir Anthony Hopkins as a Jesuit priest.
"In Harry Potter the Devil acts in a crafty and covert manner, under the guise of extraordinary powers, magic spells and curses," said the priest, who in 1986 was appointed the chief exorcist for the Diocese of Rome.
Well, that's where I went wrong obviously!knew the 'full lotus' would get me into trouble.
Quote: Timbo @ November 27 2011, 11:03 PM GMTI don't think so; the human mind makes connections, it's what it does. Pneumonia is not usually life-threatening all other thing being equal. George Michael has aids, the incidence of aids is significantly higher in the gay community and the effect of aids is to lower resistance to common infections, such as pneumonia. Making the connections does not imply a value judgement.
We seem to be more or less agreeing. People know he's gay, apparently puts it around a bit, hear he's suddenly 'ill', first thought is 'probably Aids'. So we agree,I think. I'm not saying I didn't wonder the same thing, it's that some people seem to take glee in pointing out 'the truth', that's what sickens a little.

How an Earth were we to glean that from your post though?
Just read that Ken Russell has died. He sure made some wild movies.

By my razor sharp wit.

Oh yea. A book/s with a message that love and treating people equal are improtant in life are clearly evil. I seem to remember a few bits in the Bible about "magic" events.
I ratehr like that this Father Amorth has a name straight out of H.P. Lovecraft.
