Bless This House Page 10

I can remember watching a couple of episodes of this a few years back. I didn't really like it though and I thought the standard of acting by the female characters was quite poor.

How you mean?

El Vesta - this is a slight pRicoart of my favourite episode, entitled A Touch of the Unknown (Series 2 episode 12).

Aaron - the episode (series 2 episode 6) is one I've just watched, it's a remake of an episode of George And The Dragon titled The Court Case. As we know, Powell and Driver were infamous for recycling material. But I did quite enjoy it, nowhere near the best in the series. The episode Get Me To The Match On Time, which I think was about two episodes before it, is my favourite. Brilliant. Shit, predictable, low brow, but just so funny at the same time. Sums the series up really.

Thanks for clearing up the mystery of the Bless this House 'ghostly apparition, Jack: I actually have Series 2 on DVD, but I never watched the discs all the way through....I'll have to dig this one out now!

Whatever happened to Robin Stewart??

Thanks for the link. Great find.

New member. From previous experiences of forums, old members tend to get annoyed when 'newbies' resurrect AGE OLD posts to try and start the thread again but.... well I love Bless This House. It is by billions of miles my favourite sitcom and I registered here to see if there are any other BTH nuts in the ether. So if there are, let's chat. If not I'll skulk away and er....well, I guess I'll watch Bless This House...

Of course. A wonderful sitcom.

Has anybody noticed there are scenes in BTH that were first used in George & The Dragon? And I saw an episode of Terry and June in which Terry was in bed, laughing with a mate as he had pulled the wool over June's eyes regarding amnesia. And low and behold, he had forgotten about the telephone being open... BLAAAAATANTLY pinched from BTH. Any other scene thefts that we know of?

There's likely to be quite a bit of reuse in Never The Twain - I know that scenes from Two In Clover reappeared there.

I think it's charming that this happened. It would never happen now (mainly because sitcom isn't as prevalent), but really I suppose in the 70s the VCR was a far off thing of sci-fi future and so bits and bobs could be recycled.

Has anybody done a favourite 10 episodes list of BTH? Please don't shoot me if this is like really old news. I haven't had time to read the thousands of posts on here just yet...

I love this show so much! There is a US Version you know!

Is it a remake or does it just have the same name?

I don't know Aaron but I know there is a US version.
