From the 1960s right through to today there have been so many James Bond parodies. Everything from the first Casino Royale to Spy Hard right through to Johnny English. How many times can the same joke be done over and over? Anyone else had enough?
When will the James Bond parodies end?
The parodies will end when the original ends.
And in partial defence, some of those sorts of titles are spoofs and parodies of spy/adventure tales as a whole, not just James Bond.

I was beginning to think the same thing until I saw Archer, which is superb.
OSS 117 Cairo Nest of Spies has raised the bar on spy spoofs.

Funny, I was just going to mention this film, though I found it to be massively unfunny, which was a shame, as I had been so looking forward to it, being something of an aficionado of French comedies.

Don't forget Mat Helm and .... the one with James Coburn.
Loved Archer, with its anachronistic style.

Must have passed me by. Accoridng to IMDb, the US title was The Man From S.E.X.. This is not endearing me to it.
Didn't Mike Myers get accused of knocking off Austin Powers from a Radio 4 comedy sketch show he once had a minor part in?
Carry On Spying still does it for me. Although I should have really moved on by now from being amused by Kenneth Williams asking spies if they are one of them.

Austin Powers was awful, hope there are no more. Liked Johnny English though.

I watched the spoof version of "Casino Royale" from the sixties the other day. Plot-wise, it is very messy in some places - but not dramatically messier than many other spoof/parody movies. It actually features a lot of fine comic set pieces, high camp, smart satire, outstanding performances and a beautiful design that captures the spirit of its era beautifully. It's one of a lot of big, wild, sixties experiments. It did not work out perfectly but there is a lot of cleverness and a lot to enjoy.
