Deffo, it had at least another 2 series in it.

Quote: Mark T @ March 30 2011, 11:17 PM BSTI thought Joking Apart ended way too early. I haven't seen it in years...I do recall it being pretty good though.
Yes, it did. Absolutely. The show was treated disgracefully by the BBC.
Buy the DVDs, it is still as hilarious now. Even on repeated viewing when you know the avocados are coming.
Although Mark's portable telephone does look ridiculously dated now.
I loved Joking Apart but for me it had probably run its course.

Yes! Agree.
Which sitcoms ended too early? To my mind Roy Clarke never really exploited the comedic possibilities of the old guy, bath and escarpment scenario on Last of the Summer Wine - another 31 series should be commissioned.
Quote: Jacob Mason @ March 27 2011, 6:57 PM BSTAnother series of 15 Storeys High would've been nice...
Agreed. Allegedly the BBC wouldn't let him do a third series. Seriously what's wrong with them! Why are channels so incapable of seeing talent and quality?
The BBC cancelled this show. They did this so as to give another show the chance to live. A show that when watching it is like watching bloody paint dry! I speak of Dear Green Place. They gave it a chance because Ford Kiernan and Paul Riley from Still Game were in it. They would have thought it would have been the bigger hit. Yeah that's how it got cancelled after the second series. It's Legit that should have got two series under its belt, not DGP as it is pure dung!
Quote: SlagA @ October 8 2006, 10:06 PM GMTAnother series of Fawlty Towers would have been fantastic.
Another Spaced - altho Series 2 showed the writers were too busy chasing other opportunities or the idea was running out of legs (especially with the heavy - too heavy - reliance upon popular culture self-referential parody (example - Espisode one - the Matrix)
Another Futurama - why did they end a fantastic show? Ratings, I guess.
Another Filthy Rich and Catflap.
Sorry!
I'm Alan Partridge

7 series was too soon?!
As much as I admire much of Corbett's work, 3 was a bit too much for Sorry!.
That was a poor joke

More mileage in that series, surely?
I would have liked a second series of Going Straight...
And The Thin Blue Line of course :-)

Wouldn't work as well as "The Smoking Shelter"!
