I do feel bad sometimes, pulling up carrots! Poor wee things were all happy in there.

Get them before the frost does. Put them in a bath... of BOILING WATER! *evil*

Meat is a natural part of the human diet. I eat it because it tastes good and because it provides valuable nutritional benefit. The same goes for fruits, vegetables and all the other things I eat.

And you have no problem with the mistreatment of animals before they are slaughtered and how some of them are slaughtered?
It's an odd feeling when you stop eating meat. For a while at the start I'd end up snaffling the odd burger. And then you get to a point when it's been so long since you last ate meat the concept becomes almost alien. Pretty much disgusting! You look at someone chewing a piece of meat and wonder how they can do it (do they not know?). To me a cow looks better in a field that it does on my plate. I know, I know cows, chickens, etc would probably be extinct if we didn't eat meat. But then again would the same western world as we know it still exist. Surely we'd have different concepts... stop before I digress!

I'll leave that matter to the proper authorities and carry on eating meat whenever the mood strikes me.
I could spend the rest of my life worrying about every little problem in the world but I'm a realist and don't have the time to spend agonizing over every injustice and unfortunate event.

I never try to argue anyone into not eating meat, I always try to explain why I don't. I just wondered if the cruelty involved ever crossed your conscience. I'll assume you take the same view on Chinese sweatshops n the like and regularly support brands/products which exploit whoever and whatever they can

Yup. I have this too.
I am a guilty meat eater, not that keen these days, tend to eat mince things like chille or spag' bol' stuff, can't seem to do steak thing anymore,
I delight in salad and veg!really loving that food.
I gave up meat 11 years ago on a bet. Knowing how much of a staple it was of my diet, a friend wagered £20 I couldn't go without it for a year. I managed it without difficulty but he never paid up (the shit). I decided not to go back to meat anyway as I was much happier with my new diet. Plus my stools pop out like hot biscuits now.
Too much info!
We humans are the planets apex predators
So if we all go veggie, don't we risk being replaced?
