how can any decent minded person be antisemitic?

after the holocaust?

i'm sorry but IMO anybody that is antisemitic is a gormless, braindead c**t

surely!?

The Nazis were pretty intolerant of the gays too, iirc, just like Christianity is today.

But they don't want to kill them do they.

That's like saying there's nothing wrong with the average racist or nothing wrong with the average Republican voter.

Well I know my older, religious relatives aren't republicans or racist. In fact, my heritage is mixed not long ago. As I mentioned, it's the people who go out of their way to cause trouble.

What all Christians?

Are you being a deliberate ignoramus for laughs?

Oh quite a few do, certainly in Africa, Russia evenagelical nut cases inspire serious murderous violence against gays.

But the people opposing usually are Christians themselves.

That's hardly the point. Most anti-Semities don't want to kill Jews. Most racists don't want to kill black people.

I wasn't saying religious people are racists/Republicans.

I was making the point that you can have abhorrent beliefs, such as being a racist or a Christian, and still be an "okay guy".

The reason the nutters can get away with their nuttiness is because they have so many "okay guys" in the same club.

True, but we are all in the human club. I'm not being deliberately trite by the way.

To me there is a world of difference between thinking organised religion is a bad thing overall, and people who follow organised religions are bad people. I'm sure some people are *only* good people because they follow a religion. Though they could have followed something else and still been good.

Ignorant about ignorance??

Yes alot of homophobes including Christian inspired ones are quite murderous.

Do you want a stack of links?

So you're saying that Christians have abhorrent beliefs?

Quote: Chappers @ October 30 2011, 8:14 PM BST

So you're saying that Christians have abhorrent beliefs?

Of course.

Christianity basically says that no matter what you do in life you can offload your offences to a long-dead scapegoat to get infinite bliss as a reward, but if you live a virtuous life and ignore Christ you get a pitchfork up the arse for eternity as a punishment.

"Join our club or burn."

Can you think of anything more amoral?

So you're saying that Christians have abhorrent beliefs?

I can't speak for K-Murph but it's pretty clear that all religions have abhorrent beliefs. For example, under Christian doctrine I am going to hell, purely for not believing. Someone who kills and says sorry goes to heaven.

Outside of the more extreme evangelical movements, no they don't.

Sadly the more extreme evangelical movements are catching on.

But no you're not describing the theology of most European (and sensible American) Christians.

Edit: Kevin got there before me.

But why should you care? Unless of course it's true!

:)

Actually the basic premise of Christianity is to love one another.

Because they use this threat to get people to join their club, giving them the numbers to do stuff like help spread disease, discriminate against women, and hold up scientific research. Basically, helping make the world a worse place for all of us.

Is it f**k.
