They grab my bits before I'm actually dead and I suffer a terrible agony.

A local paper has started a campaign for making it necessary to opt OUT of organ donation. I understand the need for donors but I find this so unsavoury that I'd think of opting out, even though I presently carry a donor card. Our bodies are the only things that are our own and I don't think others should claim them without our permission. Any thoughts?

Lovely bit of philosophy that

But dead selfish

Basiclly when you die your organs can help maybe a dozen people, live, see, come off of crippling dialysis. People are too lazy or selfish or self involved to fill in those cards.

And if it got to the stage that someone was considering harvesting me. e.g. I'm in a coma and facing learning how to wipe my ass and not masturbate in public.

Turn me off please.

The alternative is of course no donor card, no donor organs for you selfish pants.

You'd be dead.

Seriously brain stem, run up the curtain not coming back or feeling, dog shit dead.

I've already said -I carry a donor card (have done for years). But I chose to do that. I don't think people should be compelled.

True. And there is always a little part of me thinking if I'm in hospital having emergency surgery, are they going to try to save me a teeeeeeeeeny bit less if they need my bits for someone else?

NO! NO! NO!

They don't know until you're dead.

And even then the team that harvest your organs has nothing to do with the team that treats you. These protocols have been in place for years.

Zooo if you don't fill in a card whilst you're able and you die. Then you maybe condemning some poor stranger to a life of avoidabe blindness.

That's alright then.

I have one for the life of me I know not what they'd be able to use my bits for, other than amusing medical students.

Too much effort!
I am waiting for them to make it opt out. I'm sure it'll happen soon.

I said that I was leaving my body to medical science.

They wrote back to say that they would be contesting the will !

I was once told to keep my feet on the ground.

I said I can't...I'm Legless.

I know! But I'm bloody awkward.

I walked past the campsite at St Paul's today. It made me smile to see amongst all the tents that someone had set up a stall selling hippy paraphernalia. They do have a free coffee stand too, so no-one has to go to Starbucks and be accused of supporting capitalism.

I suspect they do to use the toilets and the bountiful plug points.
