Irish is a nationality like British. The name for a Northern irish accent is "Nothern Irish accent" although it is slightly different across different regions the accent is broadly the same.
I went to chatholic schools constantly for 17 years and have never heard our accent reffered to as "Irish" by anyone but Americans (and you I suppose 
)
