Sitcom advice/recommendation Page 5

Hi Justin

As you mentioned you like Coupling, I'd try Joking Apart (though the only place to get it from is www.replaydvd.co.uk!) It's written by the same guy and was the predecessor to the aforementioned series. I think it's superior, too.

Nathan Barley is great too, though a lot of people didn't enjoy it so much over here. I think, as you liked the silliness of Black Books and Father Ted you might enjoy it.

If you like *really* surreal, try The Mighty Boosh. It takes a couple of episodes to get into, but as soon as you start 'getting' the humour/banter, it becomes a really excellent show.

15 Storeys High is very good too, though quite bleak in a lot of it. Also, I'd recommend the recent Respectable, about a man who becomes good friends with a prostitute. It was very clever, funny and well done.

Enjoy

Dan

If you can get to Blackadder Goes Forth its well worth it I think. Lots of excellent suggestions on here with which I'll concur. For my four penneth, BBC's Still Game is worth giving a shout, but you may need a Scottish/English dictionary to understand it.

I've also given "Black Adder" but haven't enjoyed myself all that much. I watched about 5-6 episodes but I'll finish out the whole season

Sounds like you've already watched the whole first series!

As a final note, I also watched a series here in the US called "Flight of the Conchords" and was knocked over by how clever and funny it is. So, if you ever get a chance please give that series a go.

That was on here late last year. A lot of people liked it. I found it to be unwatchable. The antithesis of funny.

Ok, I'm totally lost as to ANY link between Black Books/Father Ted and Nathan Barley?

'Rise of the Idiots' -- admittedly, Dan Ashcroft is commenting on the idiots of society but everything the do/wear/how they speak is ridiculous.
