Yep. See you there.
Radio Rejects-writing opportunity Page 23
It was another great night at Radio Rejects, the last one at the Albany. Dale's sitcom went down very well and the radio producer he brought to see it was very impressed. Apparently it's in development anyway and isn't a reject at all! Yay for Dale! Many thanks to all the writers who came last night. I don't know all your code names to thank you personally here, but you know who you are.
We return next month, 2 November at Canal Cafe. Please keep sending us sketches and of course sitcoms. We don't mind fifteen minute ones, we can always do two in one night, but they should be for radio if possible.
The email addresses to send things to again are : lydia.parker27@gmail.com and maureen@oakeley.freeserve.co.uk.
Thanks!
Yes, it was a good night and Dale's sitcom was indeed very funny. Congrats to him.
The sketches were pretty good too!
Dan
Excellent night. Here's hoping that Dale's sitcom progresses from development to production - as someone commented, it was a darnsight funnier than anything that has been on Radio 4 at 6.30 lately.
I really have to make one of these shows very soon. They sound like really good fun.
Do any of you remember how a sketch about an owl-loving grandad who hates the internet went down?
Yeah, there was. It was good. And I heard your name in the end credits, anyway.
Afinkawan has recorded them all.
Dan
Great thanks Dan and to Afinkawan again.
Hi Guys,
Just a reminder that the next Radio Rejects is on 2 November at our new home, Canal Cafe and we need your sketches! I realise lots of them will be Newsjack and that's ok. We also still need sitcoms, fifteen minutes is fine as we can fit two into one night, either two episodes or two different writers. The email addresses to send things to are:
lydia.parker27@gmail.com and maureen@oakeley.freeserve.co.uk
Thanks!
Lydia
I shall try to get the recording of the show up at the weekend.
I shall also attempt to write a skketch or two but don't hold your breath - I've just been offered a job and will be trying to move to Yorkshire by December!
It's nice there. Though I moved down here.
Dan
Sent three of my fav Newjack rejects.
I imagine, Lydia and Maureen, you are wading knee deep through NJ rejects this month!
I've just sent off three sketches.
Keep 'em coming! Marc, moving to Yorkshire? Oh no! We'll miss you!
How topical do they need to be?
They don't at all. It's just that the majority of sketches recently written happen to have been for a topical news show.
