It seems to be fashionable, for quite a few years now, for us "Brits" to slag off Americans.

Since when?
Plus like I said Gervais is a Brit who slags off Britain so your comparison doesnt really apply.
WTF do you want him to do? Worship everything British, just because he's British?

I never said that if you bothered to read my original statement properly. It's the fact that he rates everything American above British even though there is just as much shit over there as there is over here.
An example would be on Richard and Judy once where he said he wouldnt give his watch to the audience because it was a GQ award watch, then adding "and i dont mean any old GQ I mean an American one".
You just keep jumping from one statement to another without explaining it, Which comedians have come out and slagged America?
When did I say that comedians have come out and slagged America? (Although I'm sure loads have). My point is that it’s very common for Brits to brush off America and the American people as being dumb, fat, not being able to understand sarcasm/irony...etc. That gets a bit boring. It’s good to see that Ricky hasn’t jumped on that band-wagon.

There is no band waggon for slagging off America, I have no idea where you got that from. You have actually backed up my point about him being so obsessed with how much better America is in terms of the media that it has led him to slag off anything British.

Oh wake up will you. Where the hell have you been these past few years? Have you just been let out the cellar?

Of course it's better! Who in their right mind wouldn't want all the fame and fortune, and glitz and glamour of working in Hollywood? We don't even have a film industry here, current comedy on TV is shit. What do you want him to do? Praise shows like Gavin and Stacey? Go on the panel of MOCK THE WEEK?

Yeh you are right there is nothing but great stuff in America, and there has never been a bad show ever made in America. The fact is apart from Peep Show i dont think he as said he likes anything else British past or present.
You have just bundled into a thread making an argument when there doesn't need to be one and acted extremely arrogant even though your posts have just been stupid.Get your head out of your arse, ooops sorry get your head out of your "Ass".

There's 4 British sitcoms on there. Happy now? Will that stop you from crying yourself to sleep tonight because Ricky Gervais isn't showing any British pride?
I dont know why I am arguing with you the fact you think Father Ted "sucks", nice american word there, shows you obviously dont know what you are talking about.

Lol, you guys are funny.
It is quite funny.
I mean, you both make a good argument...
I'm suddenly feeling a lot of love for EMS.
Who'd a thunk it.
