Anyone live near Braehead?
It's the sort of the thing that makes you feel like suggesting a flashmob and seeing how long the no pictures rule lasts.
I go there a lot. Can drive on the motorway and get there in about 15 mins and it doesn't charge exhorbitant parking fees like Glasgow (in fact parking is free). I've never noticed anything about photos but will certainly look next time I'm there.
Quote: sootyj @ October 10 2011, 6:00 AM BSTTake away guns? Really in terms of actual legislation what's he done?
As I wrote earlier, he doesn't have the votes required to many of the things he'd like to do and taking away guns is on his wish list. He's alluded to it many times in the past. By the way, 49 states now allow concealed carry for handguns. Guess which state is the only holdout ...
Cozy upto enemies? How?
"Resetting" relations with Russia has got us nowhere. China continues to poke us and our allies and Washington remains almost mute. Iran keeps thumbing her uranium-stained nose at us and one by one our allies are reassessing their relationships with the United States.
As for healthcare if you think that not having access to medical treatment is a realistic choice and not just a horrible fate. Well good for you.
Everyone wants and deserves good healthcare. We also want and deserve a system that doesn't financially ruin the nation or allow the government to intrude on our freedoms and self-determination. Right now all we have is a plan that forces Americans to buy insurance and will decimate the traditional employer-provided benefits.
What exactlyis America supposed to do about it's largest trading partner? Who also happens to own more than half it's debt?
And I for one am kind of glad he isn't getting in a pissing contest with a country whose gas reserves could turn the lights off in most of Asia and Europe.
Of course he could invade 2 small countries with virtually no militaries for no appreciable reason or profit.
And paranoia about what politicians want to do but don't say, is the territory of the tin hat brigade.
And the reason your HMOs have passed the blame for health care costs from their own bloated profits, to a belated shrunken attempt to save 57,000,000 from health insecurity. Is why they earn 9 figure salaries and you don't.

I don't want to live in a world where I'm not allowed to strut around with a gun tucked in my trousers! What is this, Russia?!

China owns less than 10% of our debt.
Of course he could invade 2 small countries with virtually no militaries for no appreciable reason or profit.
No appreciable reason? Hah! And let's not forget about the fiasco in Libya ...
And paranoia about what politicians want to do but don't say, is the territory of the tin hat brigade.
On March 30, the 30th anniversary of the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan, Jim Brady, who sustained a debilitating head wound in the attack, and his wife, Sarah, came to Capitol Hill to push for a ban on the controversial "large magazines." Brady, for whom the law requiring background checks on handgun purchasers is named, then met with White House press secretary Jay Carney. During the meeting, President Obama dropped in and, according to Sarah Brady, brought up the issue of gun control, "to fill us in that it was very much on his agenda," she said.
"I just want you to know that we are working on it," Brady recalled the president telling them. "We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."
Hey DaButt politicians lie to everyone.
If there's some votes in it.
And what the hell do you need a 33 round clip for pistol for anyway?
What healthy reason is there to want to own such a thing?

What's the difference between a 10-round magazine and one that holds 11? In California, the latter is illegal. It's a ridiculous, arbitrary law much like the "assault rifle" ban that made guns illegal for looking scary.

Is it the same with amplifiers?
