The Phantom Sh!$$£&

Hey gang here is a 6 part mini webseries I made. The story focuses on Mike our hapless protagonist who is plagued by an unwelcome visitor...

rather ironically this is a polished turd.

can you clarify?

This should replace the Scream franchise imediately, shades of M Night Shymalin when he was still making good films.

to clarify, this is a well produced, decent effected, cleverly filmed, turd

it's just not funny. but it looks good.

My advice would be to come up with something that would be funny if filmed on a mobile phone and uploaded without a single second of editing - might focus your mind more on the script rather than the FX

thanks ;-)

I think comedyoflife's being a bit too blunt. And not exactly welcoming to a new forum member either. Although he's probably right (when he eventully decides to give helpful feedback) in terms of focusing on the script more next time.

I thought this was pretty enjoyable though, I watched all six episodes which is rare for a web series I've never heard of. Mainly because it moved quite quickly and you didn't make the mistake of having ridiculously long episodes.

The acting had an... er, amateurish charm! 100% better than mine btw. And I'm guessing your more of a director anyway. The guy at the end did make me laugh and he's potentially very funny.

The story line was a bit predictable but everything looked great.

Keep 'em coming!

I never mean to be unwelcoming so apologies if it came across like that! I am always candid to a fault though, as that's the feedback I find helpful.

I love checking out people's comedy making efforts on here and I love watching their progress. I've often found that too many people say "yeah looks ok and not bad at all!" when what they really mean is "that was dull, really bad" and I think that's unhelpful for all involved - it's killing with kindness.

Liam's makes a good looking product, absolutely, but he needs a better script/concept - the phantom shitter script is far too one-dimensional and childish to find funny - but I can only offer my opinion and I can only be honest and of course I look forward to his next posting!

I do need to get some of my own stuff made and up here though so I avoid the monicer of Troll...lets hope I have a few sympathetic formumites left by that time!! haha

thanks. yeah it was more of an in-joke amongst friends. written and shot in about 2 days in total. I'm currently working on an idea based upon being human meets GI Joe

it didn't come across as unwelcoming so don't worry. Constructive crit is the best in my opinion. I'm Currently writing a couple of sketches at the moment. What stuff are you planning on making? where are you based?

Based in London and I get along to the London Comedy Writers as much as I can. I've got a three sketches I'd like to make, top of the list is a political one around david cameron. I've got all the equipment I need, decent DSLR, tripod, microphones e.t.c but my sony vegas skills are dreadful and I really rate high production values.

ideally I'd like to get a few made and do a bit of a webseries - in my line of work I don't really come across many actors!

Ideally I'd like a writing buddy that shares my sense of humour and has a few actor mates - I can be terribly lazy!

i'd love to help out if I can. im normally in bristol/newport liam@liambauckham.com
