Thanks Stephen - yes, amazingly they seem to spot tiny details like that.
Quote: Frantically @ September 22 2011, 5:28 PM BSTHuzzah - got something in! Not sure what yet, but it'll add a bit of spice to my thursday evening.
I think using Justin's name instead of Miles' this week swung it for me.
Well done
Thanks AJGO.
Apparently I've got some thing in this weeks show; but struggling to guess what. Despite the 'slow news week' I sent in 3 sketches, 2 pages of vox pops and 3 corrections, so I'm struggling to see what they've picked. (Also I guess they could have used my spooks/downton channel-hopping sketch cruelly overlooked last week.. *Ahem*)
Anyway the point of this was not to show of (Ok, it was partly to show of ), but mostly to point out the more you write/send in the better your chances, but the harder it is to decide what they'll have used. Congrats to anyone else who managed this week, keep trying to those who 'just failed'.
Nothing again this week. *sigh*
Yep - I lucked out too. One liners on the Critique rejects thread. Feedback gratefully received.
Congrats to those who made it in.
Quite a good episode this week I thought.
Very discouraged this week. Not rational, obviously, and am no stranger to writing rejection, but annoying when you write what you think are two strong sketches and they fail... With so many variables each week, and so many good competitors (v strong show this week, I thought, much better than last week; hang on I sound like Brucie) mean it's a tall order to hit the target. But when you sit down again the next week to write you lose a few percentage points of confidence just at the stage when you need to knock one out of the stadium again. Not sure why the baseball analogy or whether 'knock one out' is ever a good phrase but still...
Began writing for this week - so far done a few App messages and a "From the Archive" sketch.

You're not alone, BOH! These feelings are more common than you might imagine!
Another very useful webchat on Friday, even referencing the BCG. Hennell asked some good questions, I thought, and the answers were interesting.
Previous webchats still on-line from series 4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/comedy/2011/02/newsjack-writers-qa.shtml http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/comedy/2011/03/newsjack-writers-qa-1.shtml

Thanks for the link Dan - it might have helped if I'd provided that.
I couldn't find it! Found the others first
