Facebook changes. It can f**k off. I've been avoiding Google+, but as of today I've joined.

Yep, I'm looking to phase fb out. It's awful.

1. That Sebastard Coe is a lord

2. That Sebastard Coe is a lord and Stephen Fry is not.

Angry

Can Fry actually be made a Lord? With his previous I mean? Isn't there a rule or was that idea scrapped?

I've sent a Complaint feedback message to Facebook, saying {I prefer to think for myself, thank you!. Please bring back "More Recent" and make it an option to have that as the preferred action}

I thought that was compulsory for a Lord. Or am I getting confused with somthing else?

Doesn't it say "click here to update your flash" when you try to access iPlayer. 4OD is different to iPlayer :P

Yes it does but why has it changed? And why can't I update it?

??? I still have 'More recent' - it's never gone away, though it's not the default. Usually if I click on it when I start, it stays that way for most of the day.

I can't quite see what they're worried about.

He'd be lord of the Frys,

The Turkish would be delighted with that

I suspect Turkish bath houses are Frys Turkish delights....

Intermittent faults in my car. I've had it back twice so far, apparently repaired, only to find the same problem reoccurs (which is, sometimes the staring system doesn't work). Not sure what to do now.

Unfortunately just keep trying. I had a nasty one. Fuel injection system failed intermittantly but never when the damn thing was at the garage and they couldn't find anything. Fortunately on about the sixth return it was being driven back to me and it failed in fairly heavy traffic. The fault was then located and fixed but simply with the nature of an intermitter they don't tend to believe you until it goes wrong in front of them.

I think they believe me, they just can't find the problem. It's going back to them again soon.

For a short period, as an adult, I didn't have a car at all, since I didn't really need one in London. It was like having a burden lifted from me, never any worries about reliability, having it broken into (London, remember), parking, depreciation. Cars are expensive at the best of times, and these aren't the best of times; what other everyday items do we throw so much money at to keep them working? I can't think of any.

>_< A beautiful hot day lovely to sit out, alas there is gas mains renewal all down our street, the noise of compressors and diggers is terrible!

THEM: 'The cheque is still in the post.'
RILEY: 'If that is the case, why don't we do the payment by BACS transfer now and I'll return the cheque to you for destruction when it does turn up?'
THEM: 'Um.'
RILEY: 'Of course, if you can give me the cheque details so I can ensure that it is the right one it would be helpful.'
THEM: 'Err...'
RILEY: 'The cheque was raised two weeks ago I was told. Surely you have a record?'
THEM: 'Can we call you back?'
RILEY: 'No, you can process the tranfer. Now.'
THEm: 'I don't have the authority to do that.'
RILEY: 'Go and get me someone who does please.'

Starting to understand why small businesses go under.
