Marc: I really appreciate your feedback, particularly because I was being so sarky with you the other day. You're a big man, Marc, and you have my apologies. With regards to your commments, it's ironic that, having said to SootyJ that the lines don't necessarily need explanation, I wrote the business about the script having troubles specifically to explain why they hadn't been informed about which part they were up for. As to the comments about the film grammar, I agree with you and shall pass them on to the "World Of..." team. Thanks for your help.

That's cool, anyone who doesn't expect a sarky comment here and there shouldn't be on the internet lol. I think for me the logic of the line doesn't work as scripts are finalised, usually, before casting. Better if the exposition, that they don't know what the part is, comes from the two characters at the head of the scene and in a funny way to do with method acting - ie how can they get into character if they don't know what the character is kind of thing. I also think, as I said on David's piece, that some kind of background, instrumental music would help. Diegetic or non diegetic - ie from a radio or somesuch.

Coolio

My view was a simple thing like

"I chopped my leg off"

"No you didn't its right there"

"You just think it is,that's how good I am!"

Laughing out loud I take my hat off, SoootyJ!

That's a much more elegant solution than my round-the-houses approach! If there's an opportunity to redo this sketch in the future, I'll be using all the ideas thrown onboard here. And if there isn't, I've sure learned the importance of thinking everything through and trying to find less clumsy ways of handling exposition.

Thanks all!

Excellent idea, very nicely executed.
