And I don't know how closely affiliated to Lee Mack the "LeeMackfirst" feed on twitter is, but they say the 5th series will air in January, 2012.

It's not affiliated at all, it's just a group of fans.

Ok, thanks.

Oh, well. We'll just have to wait and see. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't massively disappointed, though.

Nooooooo.... it needs to return for another series. I've only just started watching it and am now addicted!

Did you just sign up at DS as well? :D

I'm SausageTime!

Thing is though I definitely remember listening to Lee Mack on a radio show, Steve Wright on Radio 2 I think, where he said it was coming back. I guess nothing has been confirmed yet.

About 90% of what is stated publicly about Not Going Out seems to be internal politics. I'm not sure how much weight I'd put on any of it. We've certainly heard that Lee has been writing more though, so even if it isn't 100% confirmed, it's far more likely than not, that it will be back on our screens.

Tickets have now been released for Series 5 read-throughs. I'd say that's a pretty definitive answer to the above.

Do other sitcoms invite an audience in for a read-through? What exactly happens at a read-through?

Very few do, but it's increasingly common for productions - sitcom, sketch - and particularly Avalon ones, to do so.

It is, just as it sounds. The cast stand around and read the script. No costumes, sets, just performance and audience reaction.

A few years ago I saw a couple. They do a couple of scripts a night - just to see what worked. Had a word with the producer and Katy Wix too.

Glad to hear that NGO should be returning for Series 5, phew!

As long as the run throughs are funny.

Hope so. I recently watched the whole lot in about 3 evenings and I found each series had defo got better.

And yeah, Lassoon, sent you a PM as you're right, I posted on DS too.

And tickets released for actual recordings too: http://www.tvrecordings.com/shows/view/242

I hope this series is confirmed, as this is a long way down the path if not!

Dan

Like I said, it's all politics. The series has been confirmed for about 6 months.
