That's a good criteria otherwise if we did it by location then Red Dwarf would be tricky too!

In order of bestestness:

2)The Vicar Of Dibley
3)Gavin And Stacey
4)Only Fools And Horses
5)Men Behaving Badly
6)Outnumbered
7)Fawlty Towers
8)Blackadder
9)Phoenix Nights
10)The Office
11)One Foot In The Grave
12)I'm Alan Partridge
Hmmmmm, off the top of my head:

The Office
Yes Minister/Yes, Prime Minister
Shameless
Father Ted
Fawlty Towers
Red Dwarf
The League Of Fentlemen over Psychoville (being second choice)

Hmm. Tricky. Off the top of my head and no particular order:
Yes PM, Porridge, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Rising Damp, Reggie Perrin (original), One Foot in the Grave, Phoenix Nights, Bread, Hancock, Spaced, Allo Allo.
(Assuming we're keeping to UK. Otherwise, I'd have to include Seinfeld, Larry Sanders, Friends, Arrested Development and Modern Family.)

Ugh! Lists! Anyway here's mine:
1. I'm Alan Partridge.
2... *sighs*
I'm certain that I'm Alan Partridge is my favourite. But the rest, I can't decide which is better than the other one. Nor can I narrow (or remember) 12 off the top of my head.
Sitcoms of note:
Only Fools'
Father Ted
One Foot'
IT Crowd.
Peep Show
Blackadder
The Inbetweeners
Fawlty Towers
Game On (series 1 only)
The Office would get a mention but I'm finding that on repeat viewings it's loosing its steam. I still think it's brilliant in both its performances and writing. But the humour mainly works on the unexpected and I now know what's going to happen and when. Whereas other sitcoms I can happily watch it over and over (see: Only Fools').

Veeeeery good list, L. I'm just watching a few Saxondale episodes.......what did you make of it?
Quite enjoyed it. Wouldn't say it was a favourite but was very good.

I know what you mean. When I first saw Saxondale (on TV), I thought it was just Partridge with a beard. But I picked up both series on eBay (for a knockdown price), and am really enjoying it a lot more. For me, his anger management issues are brilliant. I'm always staggered by how great Partridge is, but was initially disappointed with the second series (now I think it's the better of the two), so I've given up on my rash judgements! All the best, L.
