In the 70's, Mr. Keewik and I voted, in the referendum, to join Europe. Big mistake.
Things you deeply regret
What are your thoughts on the Scottish referendum?

Not necessarily.
Then it was sold as the major European nations joining to form a common trade area.
No mention of Polish plumbers, Romanian gypsies, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians and all the other detritus of Europe being given carte blanche to enter the UK.
Had we known then what we know now, I suspect the vote would have been entirely different.
Ah lovely word old rocker 'detritus' - means so much in one small package,
I cannot tell you my deepest regeret - or can't write it here. But the topic title made me think about it again - and regret it again.

I don't know, and that's the truth. I can see pluses and minuses but don't yet know how I'll vote. Those who are against it, try to paint it black with stupid things - for instance, I can't imagine we wouldn't still be sharing defence things with the rest of the U.K. Those who're for it (the SNP) paint a very rosy picture of us having a better lifestyle, economically. I have to say I think the SNP Scottish Government are putting on a good show so far. In their first term they had to co-operate with the other parties, but since May they have such a huge majority they can do what they like (one newspaper comment yesterday was that Alec Salmond could bring back hanging if he wanted!). So we'll see how they do between now and the referendum. I think I'll probably have to make my mind up at the last minute.
Regrets? Everything. Ev -er- ee -thing.
Not encouraging Bishop and Douch with their updates. I adored reading them, but was too shy to contribute to their threads. And now they're gone.

You viscious bastard.

I don't think any of us can predict what's actually going to happen in such cases. Look at the Euro, who would have known it would be so badly organised that cheats like Greece could worm their way in, and then it all implodes? I don't remember that being discussed. I DO remember Eddie Izzard promoting it, although his reasons for doing so revolved largely around his suggestion that Europe was a nice place.

One of the many good reasons to keep celebs separate from politics. Or anything breakable.
Turning down what would have been the job offer of a lifetime. But at 21 you know it all and think there's always time to go back...
26 months ago I was tasked with a project I thought was a meaningless waste of time. I dragged my heels and eventually, as no one asked, It went away.
Today I have been asked what I did with it!
Thinking of who has died/left lately I can blame.
