Not sure about the first point yet, till I've seen it, but I doubt it will be universally hailed as hilarious. We'll see though.

Aaron, do you forget who started throwing personal insults? I can confidently say if you look back at posts you will struggle to find one personal insult from me to another member when all around there have been foul mouthed louts of little wit slinging them around.
You allow yourself the privilege all the time. You did it to me, now you get all uppity when just once, I decide to come back at you. It's this this kind of imbalanced attitude of your that makes me laugh. Lets not get into ground we'll both regret being in. I was entitled to state my view on a pretty contentious subject for TV comedy and I'm glad I did! I can assure you, it's still a touchy subject area for comedy. 
Such matters are always potentially touchy, tricky subjects, Alfred. That's pretty much a given, and I don't think I, nor Matthew, Afinkawan, zooo, or anyone else would disagree with you on that point. However, the extent to which it could cause offence or controversy, almost 100 years after the events, does seem to have been somewhat overstated.
Anyway. I've just watched the pilot, and it deals with all those aforementioned matters very well. It's respectful to those who are away fighting, and is clear in its distinction between them and the various groups left at home. It's also pretty clear and balanced in its portrayal of the three main characters, both in themselves and in how they are viewed by others.
But is it funny? Yes, there are some great laugh-out-loud moments. Is the show without problems? No. Does it deserve a series? Certainly. I very much look forward to reading everyone else's thoughts later tonight.

Breaking all the rules. The first 5 minutes was all preposition but that was all the point.
I did enjoy it but wonder if there's a series in it. Never seen The Inbetweeners though.
I enjoyed that. Certainly think it deserves a series.
Really enjoyed that, Jonny Sweet the clear highlight. It'll be a surprise if this doesn't go to a series, especially off the back of the success of The Inbetweeners.

It was okay without being anything spectacular. I'd agree with Chappers in that I wonder if there's a full series in it and, more to the point, if I'd stick with said series.
I found Jonny Sweet's character a bit annoying. Just a bit TOO stupid and awful. Could probably live with it though.
