Please look at the Hi Res version it's infinitely clearer.
Comic: Help of Strangers
Excellent. Best yet I think.
Cheers mate
Very nice (as always) Gav.
It's very well done, as ever. But it doesn't feel character driven though. It could be any character in this strip. It probably doesn't matter at this stage, plus it's a nice one off.
That's a thought though. Is there any narrative running through these comics or is it just starring these characters?
Maybe after this run, you could start developing a world around them?
There is no overall narrative. Some follow on from others but mostly they are pockets of time.
I don't want to overload the panels with stuff. Hence not all have room backgrounds etc. It's meant as a little portal in to the kind of humour and stuff that the show has.
Maybe for new viewers/readers you can pop in little clues, for example a family portrait in the background. I think the previous one in the car would set things up, but it's half way through the series. So it's not until then you see them all together. Does this make sense?
Yeh I get what you mean. It kinda assumes you know their a family so Maybe I need to address it. Why not a family photo at the start where the comic title usually is? And looks different each time?
Yeah, that will work. It doesn't have to be different each time, I think you might regret that after the 30th edition.
A typical family photo where the kids are fighting/pulling faces. Mike's got a beer in his hand and zoned out and Sara is the only one smiling. Sommet like that.

I'm regretting doing f**k loads of comics atm So Good point!
Leevil raises a good point, you should have a the family in the first panel with the title, or have a banner across the top with "The Newmans" and a picture, then as above underneath.

Don't you think that's a bit too Simpsons?
When I first saw the Newmans, I thought Simpsons.
Not for any reason other than it being a cartoon family & starting with "The"
I liked the Cartoon, must be Gav as it's Geeky.
Funny lines & a nice idea.
Bit hard to read, but so are most of my posts on here

It was just an example.
