You say the clips you saw displayed no insight or satire, fair enough, had he lived for longer maybe one day he'd have reached high enough to impress people on your plane of existence. I guess we'll never know.
As you don't really know anything about me your insults are not about to cause me to go into a period of painstaking self-searching. I'll let you decide for yourself how fair your comments really are.
I didn't actually say they displayed no insight or satire, simply that I wasn't bowled over by them and this is all I said, I did not try to draw you into any lengthy or 'intellectual' discussion, it has rather been you who has posted far longer and detailed replies to both my posts.
And by the way I am a Christian. I'm not particularly offended by the jokes that I saw and heard, but I think I have the right, in the context, to pass some sort of judgment on whether those jokes were insightful or not.
I've gotta say Eddie Murphy of roughly the same era makes laugh a lot more.

Fair Do's to everyone, our appreciation of comedy is personal , and it can change over the years I am much more tolerant of 'dark/black' humour now.

Whether or not you are bowled over, you have to admit it's a pretty weighted point to make in a three line gag.

I am going to watch the Bill Hicks American thing.
But because he has a finite body of work, I think I've heard most of it before.
I'd be interested to see his later or very last concerts though, I imagine they are quite different from his earlier work.

They understood why they wore crucifixes.. the reasons they did was because they were Christians.
That is there symbol. It's really not complicated JD. It has been chosen by them.

His last full show (unofficially) recorded is really sad to watch, at that point his chemotherapy was really draining him and all the way through he's rubbing his side because his pancreas is agony.
The material is profound though. There's a sense of urgency throughout everything and a lot of the "What's the deal with airlines....?" kind of structure is thrown out entirely.
