But in the short term it needs to close the loop holes

I heard one suggested on the wireless that a club could advertise a pair of season tickets for as 'best in the house' for £300m !

What the f**k has a pair of Chelsea mainstand tickets got to do with it?

Anybody remember this?

Blimey, that's amazing. I think it must have been that psychic octopus that predicted all the world cup results. :O Pretty amazing story. The suspicious thing is that the bookmakers didn't take bets on it! Why not? Had they been told this was to be the draw? Sounds very fishy to me.

Eh?

Eh?

This is a jocular reference to the high price of Chelsea's tickets, Rocker, £300m for a pair of Chelsea tickets being the punchline intended. Quite amusing, I thought.

I hope you arn't planning to suggest a live draw was faked, lol.

No, but it's a bit suspicious.

When was the last time Man Utd were in a 'Group of Death' in the CL? I can't remember it.

Hillsborough, unlike Heysel had nothing at all to do with football violence or the misbehaviour of fans though. That has been proven extensively, no matter how much some sections of the press and the police force tried to paint a different picture at the time. What happened at Hillsborough could have happened to any club, it was a disaster waiting to happen.

It had nothing to do with pissed up Scousers arriving for the game late and trying to force their way in then?

Platini is trying to put a cap on the games financial capers, which in the long term will be good for the game.
But in the short term it needs to close the loop holes such as the ground naming capers for 400 million.

Its hard when FIFA are so transparently corrupt and Platinis motives are more related to envy of the Premiership than anything else, if the French had the level of investment that the Premier has, then I doubt it would be an issue.

Haven't Paris St Germain had some big investment?

Er, I might not have it ver batim, but I think one of the highest courts in the country ruled that it was a result of the Police forcing them into a terrace which was already full. So no, you're not right there. As well I think you know. :) The lateness thing I'm pretty sure was a transport issue, again, not a fault of the Liverpool supporters. :)

Birmingham City: Unbeaten at home in European competition (13 games).

Sutton United - the only English winners of the Anglo-Italian cup.

I think your well of the mark about Hillsborough and I think you should consider what you write on the matter.

Who was that directed at?

You!

I clearly remember seeing TV footage at the time. They were running to get there on time after leaving local pubs and then pushing their way in.
