That is debatable. Maybe he's won a few trophies but he hasn't built up and won the top league with two different clubs in this country.

Well the team he has now certainly isnt the same as the team he started with.

You can't give the players and the board all the credit when they are the things that have changed, the constant variable through all his trophys has been him.

They could've won the European Cup but for Liverpool.

I'm not sure we'd have won it, but we did have the best team in our history during the European ban. The thing that always annoys me about it, is that we won the league in '87, which was the same year that Maradona'a Napoli won their first Scudetto, which means we missed out on Maradona possibly playing at Goodison when he was at his peak! Don't forget, it was only real champions who got to play in the competition in those days, so there was a good chance it would've happened. We'd already had Pele, Garrincha, Jairzino and Eusebio play at Goodison, but Maradona would've topped them all.

Here he is playing for Barcelona, at Old Trafford: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rinB8Z6kj2Q&feature=related

Everton are the shite of Mersyside and thankfully theyre also completely skint

I pray they get relegated.

Surely Tranmere are the shite of Merseyside?

Why do you want Everton to be relegated so badly?

I think it's because like most wools he has an underlying hatred of Scousers brought on by a mixture of envy and fear.

SAF broke the monopoly in Scotland and took Aberdeen into Europe and won there, he is the only man on the planet with more medals than the heroic Prince Charles.

I still thing he's a nasty bastard.

I think you are mistaking his drive and energy for anger, very few experts on any given subject have time for dissent, especially when it is ill informed and often brought about by petty jealousy.

I would give my left arm to have had him at Goodison, his understanding of the game is outstanding, even now as a pensioner it looks like he has changed direction yet again.
It would seem that he knows if this season is to be truly successful by his standards then he will have to beat Barcelona at some point, so he has got his team playing to their format from the get go and that is no mean feat.

Everton 0
QPR 1

I have yet to see United so far this season, so can't comment on if they are trying to emulate Barca's system or not. What I will say though is that I would be surpised if they were. Ferguson has never played such a fluid and open system and also does not currently have players capable of doing it. If they tried to match Barca playing them at their own game, they would get a spanking much bigger than the two Champions League finals against them. United are capable of winning the league this year by continuing to play the way did it last year, changing the system would be pointless gamble in my opinion.

Everton 0
QPR 1

Thats nothing. I was at Goodison in the '93/'94 season, when we were beaten 5-3 by QPR, and had been 5-1 down at half-time! Les Ferdinand was a beast up front in those days.

I detect a conspiracy...

1994 Everton conspiracy comes in the form of that Wimbledon game last day of the season. :O

And pig ignorant to boot.

We also had a chance to get Everton relegated in 1998, but we mucked it up and went and beat Bolton on the final day.

I really can't be bothered Wikipediaing but I heard somewhere that Rangers and Celtic have won 40 of the last 44 Scottish League Titles. Out of the 4 they didn't win, Ferguson won 3 of them during his time at Aberdeen.

Pretty remarkable, especially when you consider that he did it without Howard Webb.

Come again chief?

It's a bit the like the Bill Shankly being banned from your ground fact, they seem to get lost when reds reflect!
We beat Wimbledon fair and square if your looking for fixes it was Bruce Grobbelaar who was arrested for fixing games when he played for LFC, it was in all the papers and he went to court and was prosecuted, don't you remember?
