While I am the queen of ignoring/avoiding things, I can also see how it might be better to start sorting it out now, before you're back at uni and have a dozen other things to keep up with.

I will, I wiiiill. :( Stop moaning at meee. I wiiiill.

That joke is way to easy.

Scatters, please, please don't be agitated. We're behind you and want to make things better. Who, amongst us, hasn't been a bit frightened of life at times?

I'm not agitated; it's just that everyone is assuming I won't go. I will, but I will be scared, that's all, and I do appreciate everyone being so lovely. I even posted on Tumblr about it!

I'm always scared going to the doctor - to the extent he diagnosed me with White Coat Syndrome - i.e. my blood pressure soars when I'm faced with a doctor! Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

Isn't that also known as Barbara Cartland syndrome?

Didn't she suffer from PINK coat (and everything else) syndrome?

It's not so easy when you're amidst it to be honest. I'd feel terrified whoever I spoke to. I am not quite so chatty when what I have to say is "I'm upset all the time". I know avoiding things isn't an option but right now it seems easiest, and so definitely an option!

Aah that stuff.

Oh well will stop nagging and will return to calling Batman a homo in sketch form.

Basically it's a bit like swimming talking about it. Sounds scary and the first stroke or 2 is difficult but once your started you're fine and voom phwoosh away you go.

Alot of the time people worry about either being told not to be silly and ignored, or being seen as sick or incapable.

Neither extreme ever really happens.

Just talking can make a massive, massive diference especially to a sympathetic medical professional who doesn't know you.

If it's really bad then pills can help alot without damaging the essential Scats underneath it all.

And some stuff you can get prescribed can work very fast whislt the gnetler stuff builds up in your system.

Can I say this advice comes from both a personal and professional background so it's pretty goodstuff.

And if it's to do with mood, brain etc. Then you may find it easier to contact Mind or Nightline or really any of the phone and chat advice lines.

Soon you'll be as sane and happy as Sootyj.

Ha, mine actually does. Those blood pressure test thingies make me so nervous they always have to do it 2 or 3 times to get a normal reading.

nb if it helps admitting you need help and considering you need to find it. Is a good sign that underneath all the issues you're basically pretty sound.

I hope it works out, I really do. I've had bad experiences with therapists in the past, you see.

Thanks everyone for caring so much.
