Sketch Writing Page 3

Dan it reads funny to me as written.. i.e not to be performed - but not sure where... but given the Starkey reference as mentioned.. might be somewhere to place it now?

I think I'm an ok sketch writer but I seem to have a wave length few people are on. Hence scoring less often than a blind striker facing a goalies.

Eh?

Not sure this helps much, but in my opinion people should feel happy to use critique in whatever way they like. Some posts might just want a quick response for "is this mad or okay?", others might be "help me with this line", others still might be "I have lost confidence in my writing and your response might help." I've been all three, and I'm sure there are others too.

Hear hear!

(Please look at mine, I am well puzzled)

(You don't have to, I still 'hear hear')

Actually my sketch writing has been a 3 year cry for help and none of you c**ts are listening.

Console

I'm upset to hear that you've been all three Badge but I can't help feeling that:

"Is this mad or okay?"

Will probably get the automatic answer "It is mad."

"Help me with this line"

Will probably get the response "Do you own work..."

"I have lost confidence in my writing and your response might help."

Will get no response at all.

But Tim, the secret is never to ask the question, and you'll get your answers.

Well I'd go back to Leevil's point, sketch writing isn't that difficult so if you can't finish any sketch you start you may have problems. As for asking is the script too mad well maybe you're looking for a new type of surrealism, so it's no good asking us. As for losing confidence, well that's probably more to do with not being accepted, rather than what people say on a forum.

But if you think the critique helps you, who am I to argue?

Your signature's apt, I'll give you that much.

Well you obviously.

Well you obviously.

I thought he was a lost ruler of Mesopotamia.

I don't know whether I'll ever have any commercial success with writing sketches, or comedy in any form, but it's something I enjoy doing.

When I write something and I get a comment from someone saying that they enjoyed my sketch and it made them laugh, it makes me feel good. If we can make just one other person smile, it's all worthwhile. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

I am me to argue? Strange argument...
