Are you quite MAD?
Life without snow would be almost pointless.

Last winter here, there was almost NO life thanks to the snow. We kept getting trapped for 4 days at a time.

Pika just full on pissed on the duvet with me under it. Loads. Like tipping out a cup of hot orange juice. Had to throw out the duvet. WHY, PIKA? WHYYY????

Like Sooty etc. said, how old is Pika? I had a very old cat who did similar when he was poorly, but the fact that (s)he stood to do it sounds less accidental/ailing perhaps!

Annoying, BUT also awesome. SNOW DAYS!

I had my hair cut today in a hybrid hairdressers/tattoo/piercing place. There was a bloke there having his 5 year old daughter's ears pierced. Isn't that a bit young? The fact the girl came out in tears made it even creepier.

I'm always surprised that causing pain to a child for aesthetic reasons is legal, and that's not even getting into the sexualising kids debate

When I was about 7 I really wanted my ears pierced. My mum said it was fine but my dad wasn't happy about it. Then one day my dad took me to have it done without my mum knowing. This is constantly cited as testament to my dad's inability to play bad cop.

With his career path that's no bad thing

But it really hurts! It was awful being a rock chick when I was younger, pretending to be down with the multiple ear piercing and trying not to wail! My low pain threshold is what I base all of my opinions on, the five year old in story and little Scatter were probably absolutely fine :)

Yeah - I cried but only because as far as I recall the man made a very funny joke about shooting the ear piercing "gun" from a distance at my ears and aimed from a few metres with one eye closed.

I wanted them done when I was about 13, but mum wouldn't let me for a few years.

To be fair, you can let them close up if you change your mind later, so it's not as big a decision as a tattoo or something.

Ahhh tattoos...

Ha. When are you getting your second?

I dunnooo. It's choosing where. I need somewhere that can be seen when I want it to be, but that isn't visible all the time in case I want to be a teacher.

10 minutes till Shooting Stars

hope it's as good as last weeks

I'm thinking: the place where your dad has one.
