And, old-school Guardian-reading liberal that I am, I looked back through every post on this thread for a smidgeon of homophobia, just so I could join in and condemn it. But I couldn't find any. I agree - nothing at all against those pervy shirt-lifters.
I didn't mean anything specific. It's just the connotations of the entire thing, perhaps, that seemed a bit jarring for me? Things like suggestions of men "taking a giant cucumber" seemed kind of ridiculing/derogatory. Also the way it descended into who could take what "up the bum". Maybe I'm just hypersensitive/a mental gay feminist student.
