Brokeback Britain Show looking for sketch material Page 3

Oh bugger. I always miss the deadline Angry

Tonight's was cancelled because the actors refused to appear.

1 show has just cancelled for tonight - Brokeback Britain @brokebbrit at the @etceteratheatre - due to actors refusing to come out. Honestly

(From the @CamdenFringe twitter feed)

I've heard that the dates on the 20th and 21st have been cancelled because the theatre was understandably pissed off.

But this isn't good enough!

This is when satire should be working, we need to attack them with a weapon they understand!

Yours under a table,

Tim

This is a shame as I had one on and was looking forward to going mano a Dano with it*. *copyright sort of Steve Sunshine

That's the first time I've seen that, so will, understandably, give you all the credit whilst Sunshine becomes the penniless moaner lying in a gutter somewhere wailing it was his...

Looks like Badge was right: cancelled after reading my sketch...

Dan

Oh well. The one sketch I managed to send got in. I couldn't have made it along there anyway.

Looks like the rioters at least managed to flush out those with sketches in tonight's show if nothing else. Why was everyone so shy, only declaring their hand after the show was cancelled?

Apparently one theatre had to hold people inside until after midnight on police advice so everyone got a bit scared on Tuesday. But come Wednesday it was more calm and serene round Camden than an Enya concert so it was business as usual. Love the way London can bounce back from almost anything within a day or two.

Hoping they get another venue as be a shame for it all to have been for nothing.

:( So agree! sad for you guys and hard work put in.

Comment from Chris Spyrides:

Due to safety risks for some of the cast members, and material which has very quickly become drastically out of touch, it has been decided that tonight's show will also be cancelled.
Sorry peeps.
Have fun & stay safe

So not solely down the rampaging Apple-scrumpers.

(I had a sketch in too, btw. Only ever had sketches accepted for 3 shows. 2 this week, both cancelled...good omen for the future)

Cast was to have been:
Kathryn Beaumont
Stephen Cavanagh
Francesca De Luca
Natalie Mills
Matt Prendergast
Chris Spyrides

So may just Google them and imagine some of them doing the sketch. Possibly in a more sexy way than might have happened in real life. And with much better audience reaction.

Kathryn Beaumont? The actress who worked for Disney in the 1950's?

No wonder they had 'safety concerns'.

I didn't declare because I like to discourage camaraderie of any kind. :D

Just looked and the 20th/ 21st dates now seem to have been replaced by a one man show, although if you dig around on Google the remnants of the original booking are still there.

Damn their actorish eyes!

I don't understand it. When you see actors on the telly they are always so swashbuckling and devil may care!

;) Yes early Greek Roman ampitheatre were fearful places.

Ok, own up. Who wrote the David Cameron/Nero fiddling while London burns sketch?

Btw - That isn't Peter McGladdery once of Ballymena is it? Or are there two such people of that name?

:) Not me, boy do your eyes penertrate making me nervous!

Is this the show which is to performed in a few days' time, under the title of Sketchaggedon?

To what are you referring?

Google doesn't know what you are talking about.
