I'll be at Ciao Roma tonight at 64 South Bridge EH1 1LS (Venue 283) at 7pm. I'll be playing 4th fiddle to a singing Hoover!
Quote: Tim Azure @ August 6 2011, 4:48 PM BSTTim Vine's doing a chat show at the Pleasance Theatre, perhaps you could appear on that? He appears to have reviews from Bob Monkhouse(?)
I'm not sure whether this is naive or sarcastic..

To be honest, not sure myself. Perhaps it just looks unsettling? I don't know. Gig not right for you?
Years beyond my skill level, but thanks for not assuming that
In case anyone is up there and interested I'm appearing at the following shows tomorrow:
12:30 (10 minute spot): http://www.edfringe.com/whats-on/comedy/talking-to-you-is-cheaper-than-therapy-free-festival
19:15 (5 min spot): http://www.edfringe.com/whats-on/comedy/alistair-greaves-mixed-grill-free
Also I MIGHT be on at fresh faces at 5:30, but I won't know for definite until I get there: http://www.edfringe.com/whats-on/comedy/fresh-faces-at-the-free-fringe
Good luck Nat
That's brilliant!!
I'm still waiting to hear back from another possible gig. Finegrs crossed. I was hoping to get 5 in, but I think I'll survive with two definites. Means I can be an audience member for more of the day
Nat, see if you can speak to Alex Petty at the Free Festival, they have several "normal" stand up shows which have different line ups every day (usually in the Espionage venue on Cowgate), you might be able to get him to squeeze you on for a 5-10 minute spot.

You're pretty good and you may find it easier than you think, the audience are fired up so you're not trying to draw the laughs out and the focus isn't all on you.
The couple of times I doubled up with procomics I got way more laughs than I would've on my own.
Sometimes it's worth chasing the big pitch.
It isn't that I don't think I'd be good at it Sooty, I just know that the level of experience a gig will be looking for is simply something I don't have.
Thanks Tony, I'll drop him a line- appreciate the tip
Hi folks, I am coming to the festival 17th to 21st August and looking to meet some interesting people to catch a few shows with. Also, I guess I'll have some time on my hands so if you're an act and need a bit of a hand with something - I'm happy to consider it. Cheers, Bri. PS - I'm not mental
I went to the Edinburgh Festivals...just amazing!
If you can go, don't miss Shlomo.
I've read an interesting article on the Scotsman newspaper about the Festival.
Have a look:

But surely it's about practice until you get the experience? Sorry about your second gig by the way.
