My Family - Series 11 Page 7

An improvement this week, it was actually good. Best episode in ages.

I enjoyed it too. Maybe the absence of the dad had something to do with it.

Yes, despite the near absence of Ben, this week's episode had some wonderful physical comedy and classic farce. Lovely to see it being done on telly so well.

The last one without Ben was appaling though.

Haven't watched yet but sounds like it was a goodun.

I thought it was hilarious. Good old silly, slapstick humour. I feared the worst when I knew Ben wasn't going to be in the episode but how wrong I was.

Loved Michael saying "this is why I date men".

Same here, first time I've actually laughed out loud at My Family in ages.

Quite liked this episode. Seeing Roger get tasered a few times was oddly satisfying Laughing out loud

Pleasantly surprised by this week's episode. The ones carried by Susan are usually mediocre at best, mostly due to the script though as Zoe Wanamaker was great in this episode, as was everyone else. And the dude from PhoneShop was in it! For once the house actually seemed full, like how it used to be, something mad going on in every room, that's how it was before when Nick was around. And for once Roger was one of the best characters. Stand out episode from the series and at least they showed Ben leaving instead of making some excuse about him being away. Hope the remaining episodes are as good, still one of the more classic concept BBC sitcoms around...the last one?

I wonder why Robert Lindsay was in the pre-credits but wasn't in the rest.

I think it's unfair to say that the house was full again like when Nick was around, as he left in series 5 and it has only had an 'empty' feeling in series 10/11 due to the absence of Alfie (even though I'm glad he's gone).

Ratings for series 11 so far

Pretty grim.

1. Janey's Choice (17 June 2011) 4.37 Million
2. Labour Pains (1 July 2011) 4.42 Million
3. Accusin Susan (8 July) 3.62 Million (Overnight as did not make BARB top 30)
4. Germs of Endearment (15 July 2011) 3.81 Million
5. Harper Vs. Harper (22 July 2011) 4.13 Million
6. Relationship Happens (29 July 2011) 3.83 Million
7. Booked (5 August 2011) 3.88 Million (Overnight)

They'd better watch out. If they fall any further, the show might be cancelled.

Really liked the episode tonight, can't think why Lovey

They seem to run out of plot with tonight's episode, presumably why they gave more emphasis to the subplot (Michael's pursuit of the undertaker).

It's worth mentioning that Susan's father was played by Tony Selby, who - along with appearences in The Detectives, among many other shows - stared alongside Robert Lindsay in Get Some In, back in the mid-70s.

It was pretty good given the standard of some episodes this series.

Thought that last night's episode was another pretty decent one, again the chemistry between the two leads is still great and they had some good scenes together and the plots are so ridiculous it's almost becoming a parody of itself which is actually good because the actors play it for laughs in an ironic way like when Susan says they're off to scam her Dad out of 2 mil. I didn't think they handled the mother's death very well though haha, I think it was just a springboard but Grace was a funny character and maybe it was because it wasn't as serious as other episodes in sitcoms like when Grandad died in OFAH or Mrs Cropley in TVOD, but hey, she wasn't a main character anyway soo...
Only a couple more episodes to go...
