Fair enough.

I just think those sort of things are so pathetic. Like t-shirt slogans funny when you first see them but then they become tedious.
Very nice artwork
Quote: Nil Putters @ August 2 2011, 1:08 PM BSTYou could open these up.
"Little Princess on Board" to reveal Bowser/Kong (or whatever they're called) driving away?
"Little Monster on Board" to reveal Ghostbuster's ghost trap?
etc.
The Bowser one would be excellent
I've no idea what Bowser/Kong means.

I think it's a Mario Bros. thing.
Artworks impressive but the gag's neither here nor there for me.

I liked it. Simple yet effective gag and the artwork is as good as always. Good work people.

Well, okay, the idea could work but for me doesn't as a stand alone short strip.
The problem with visual reveals in short strips is the audience see it before it's delivered.
I could see it working far better if used as a back drop visual gag, the sort of thing an audience may notice in the background of an already funny sketch and feel chuffed cos they noticed it.
Or the sort of thing James Drefus's character in 'The Thin Blue Line' would pop on the car window after his partner made an arrest.
I'd originally envisaged it as an animation - close up on the sign - then panning out gradually to reveal Mike driving - then the robber in the back.

Well that's ok then
Quote: Jack Daniels @ August 3 2011, 4:40 PM BST(My only advice to Gav is perhaps reconsider how prolific you are with these... There seems to be one or two or week, If I had the talent for these that you do I'd be cranking out several - at least - a week, and make it a very big deal, burn the midnight oil, you've created a world with these guys - I'd go all out Matt Groening on this - something this slick can open a lot of doors for you I'm certain of it)
He's right, really putting the time and effort into pumping two or three out a week, every week, and promoting them as much as possible could really help you get noticed.
All we need to do is make them funny or clever.
