There - I've said it.
I've been to a few shows and frankly I find them embarrasing.
You get a couple of good comedians but then you get so many cliches or, at the other end of the spectrum, those who are trying too hard to be outrageous.
I'd much rather watch a sitcom or comedy drama. I don't think I can stand more than about fifteen or twenty minutes of gag, gag, gags.
Do you mean live stand up at small venues or standup in general?
I went off standup for a few years after being a big fan. Starting to come around to it again now. although it's quite hard to escape on TV at the moment.
I mean constant comedians. Mainly at live venues but I don't even really like watching too much on TV.

I've never seen stand up live. I imagine it to be as awkward as being at a small music venue where you make constant eye-contact with the singer. I hate that.
I don't tend to watch the current lot of standup shows like Live at the Applo and I'm not the biggest comedy panel show fan. So I think I'm getting the right balance. Although I've had enough of Jack Whithall, Rufus Hound and to a lesser extent David Mitchell (oh, I take that back 
).

Exactly the same here, and I've already said it. Stand up is THE most over rated, hyped up comedy form there is. It once was okay, but it's been done to death and beyond now. I feel a bit sorry for the old masters of it, the Ken Dodds and Jasper Carrots who are considered passe now because the style has changed and it's all about youngish and trendy (they have themselves believe) twats who define their style as subversive or random to obfuscate the fact it's unfunny rambling crap. Much of the time.

The sitcom is the highest form of comedy there is. Although this form is in a real trough at the mo too.

I don't mind the comedy panel shows. They bounce things off each other. I know they're not instantaneous and put together over hours but the finished result are entertaining.

I don't really like that show. Especially when a topic comes up and one of the guests pick up on a certain word and completely digresses into a bit of their routine and it all feels totally unnatural.
They all do that. Some of them do it on HIGNFY. I've sat there open gobbed when someone's come out with a two minute stint of theirs which bore no relation whatsoever to the preceeding thing that was said! 
Reg D Hunter has been one such blatant offender.
It depends who's doing the stand up; if it's good people, then it's great.
