Jonnie Marbles Page 6

I suppose his case didn't 'stand up' in court.

(Sorry, getting me coat as I type this.)

I feel slightly sorry for the big lummox. He had a statement and never even got to read it.

I think it started with "I suppose you're all wondering why I'm here..."

Int. Prison Showers.

Billy Scar Face
"What do you do, then?"

Johnny Marbles
"Me? I'm a stand-up, Mr Face"

Billy Scar Face
"You're no good to me standing up son....bend over, you ho (ho ho)"

5 minutes late

Billy Scar Face
"How was it for you?"

Johnny Marbles
"I have never felt so humble in all my life"

It was surely the wrong sort of pie to get custardy.

I Just hope they allowed him his one Foam call

He's got enough on his plate.

He'll have a cushy few weeks in one of those open mic prisons.

:D

It was hardly an attack was it? They couldn't even charge him with any sort of assault. I'm not saying it was a great idea but come on, it's hardly gbh.

If you're going to throw a pie you should make sure you land it properly.

Someone should take him a pie with a file inside it. Ridiculous sentence though I'll bet Marbles (May-Boweles) ain't smiling now.

Great thread, folks. Some great gags....but what source material! (Marbles/foam pies/a stand-up going to the nick, etc). :D

What do you mean it's too light? I think it's fairly light. I think if MPs hadn't have given Parliament such a bad name lately, then he'd be getting twice that at least. Whatever self serving fraudsters there are working there, to have a fame hunting idiot halt a serious inquiry (that's finally pinning the Murdochs down to at least acknowledging there is a higher authority than themselves) with virtual impunity is even more ridiculous. I think he's got off lightly.

Yes. He ended up with egg on his face.

No similar protester in recent times has been jailed. The protesters who hit Blair with purple powder in the House of Commons weren't jailed. The sentence is ludicrous, but about what I expected.

A high price to pay for 15 minutes of foam.

Ha ha. (can't get smilies to work)

It depends how you define similar, I suppose. Certainly protesters have been jailed in recent times. Are they similar? I'm sure the lawyers look into detail on each act.

And people are regularly jailed for contempt of court. When Parliament is acting like a court then this is no different. I'd say Blair possibly intervened on his one, to stop himself being even more unpopular, a bit like the way RM didn't press charges for assault, because the powdering incident was definitely imprisonable.

Because they are becoming more common now, the judge had to reinstore some common sense deterrent to doing this nonsense. It would have cost the taxpayer millions if the thing had to be adjourned for another day. The bloke was a selfish, self promoting twat.
