That's differentttttttttt!
If Harry Potter was by Terry Pratchett the whole book would be about those stupid little dudes who run the bank. BORING.

You know it's true.
Quit arguing all over my thread!!!!
Aw. Sorry, Butters.

'Neither Here Nor There' is a classic imo.
Crossing the road in Paris . . . . .

Whereas Mother Tongue is rubbish because it contains so many stupid errors - and to my knowledge has never been revised with corrections.

You know, that's probably true....but personally, I'd use that as a reason to support the Discworld series!
The book or Mormon.
Did think about posting that for a bit, but I decided to commit in the end.
On a side note, are the ones 'for younger readers' worth getting?
(Discworld)

I found that the first three books in the Wee Free Men series were good. I have not read the fourth yet.
(Wee Free Men, Hat Full of Sky and Wintersmith)
The Amazing Morris and his Educated Rodents was not as fun for me to read, but I did really enjoy the radio version.
I am not sure if Monstrous Regiment is one of the books said to be for younger readers, but it is one of my favourite Prachett books nontheless.
Not sure if truckers, diggers and wings were discworld and I don't remeber them all that well, sorry.
Monstrous Regiment is not one of the Discworld novels for younger readers.
Truckers, Diggers and Wings are not Discworld novels at all, instead forming a different series called "The Nome" or "The Bromeliad" trilogy.
Just read The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents and found it much more disturbing than the adult books! Very enjoyable though

Thanks, it was years ago I read The Nome Trilogy.
Still love Monsotrous regiment though
Quote: Vader @ July 31 2011, 10:20 PM BSTJust work your way through the Discworld books and then get back to us! I'd start with The Colour of Magic, since it's the first one.
No, he did not hit his stride until Mort; start with that.

Agree first three are excellent and work as a stand alone trilogy; I Shall Wear Midnight is more integrated into the series as a whole. It is not up there with his best, but I suppose under the circumstances we should be grateful he is still churning them out at all.
