The best advice you've ever received.
Don't create a thread like this and expect to get a serious first reply.
Sometimes they improve.
"You'll never be successful unless you enjoy what you do". It makes sense, because even if you do 'well' in work you don't enjoy, then it's not really success, in terms of fulfilment.
In a new job:
Keep your eyes and ears open
Keep your moth closed
Never shit in your own time
'It will pass.'
First day in prison stab some one and establish your rep.
I've never been to prison or stabbed anyone.
But the principle is good.
Don't make excuses - nobody listens to them.
Also not to get bitter when bad things happen as it only makes it worse for you.
It's nice to be nice.

Be yourself. There'll always be someone who has a problem with it, so just be exactly who you want to as long as it's not actually hurting anyone else.
Don't worry if you feel out of your depth. Nobody really knows what they're doing, they're all just winging it.

I do that when ever I start a new job. It's subtle, yet effective. The downside is if they class it as gross misconduct you'll have to do it all over again.
