What would it be like to be neither gender?

I've often though it might be convenient to switch off your gender whenever you want, so that you can choose to live without being dictated to by your hormones.
So men wouldn't have to feel they need to behave all 'manly', and women wouldn't be obsessed with shoes. But what would a gender-neutral person be like?

Boring.

Now do you want a figh?

My manly hormones are in over drive!

No thanks, I'm allergic to fighs.

You wouldn't say that if he was ........ on your ........... would you?

I'm quite neutral in gender in my way of thinking (or basically have enough of both ways of thinking to balance it out).

I'm not particularly girly, have the same views about sex as most men, hate shopping, love sports.

Well maybe most of them were Yanks.

Must have been. I've heard of Firefly, but have never heard of that character.
