Did somebody tell you your pitch should read no longer than a single sentence, James?

I like the title.

:D

I'm looking forward to this.

(I wonder how many posts we can have without anyone actually reviewing the monologue itself)

Properly quite a lot.

I'm also looking forward to being able to download/stream the Spicer Life when I return to a better internet location in a week.

It's like I can hear the attempts at jokes but they just aren't funny. That's not to say the material is bad. It's not great, but it's not bad. There are some good lines in there.

I know this is a somewhat established character now but it would really help if you were to change the voice you're doing. The current one is too fake and distracts from the narrative. As a listener I never quite suspend my belief, all I can hear is James Cotter doing a poor Tony Blackburn impression.

I'm only 5 mins into it. Which again, feels like an unnatural slog through a YouTube video. I wish you would find a way to make these feel a lot shorter, snappier and more enjoyable to listen to.

Finished. It was a bit of a chore, but one with glimmers of hope and joy. But unfortuantly in this current incarnation I don't think I can or want to listen to anymore future editions.

Good luck with it though.

The talent agent bit worked well although she didn't sound that neurotic to me, I'm surprised it took so long to enter the piece...

The rest of it was pretty dry and mundane and your voice is still really quite annoying...

:) Glad you liked the talent agent segement. What do you mean that you were surprised it took her so long to enter the peice?

Because of that last comment I have decided to make second series just for you :P

Effects still to high in the mix.

Yeh sounds like your doing the show in the middle of a car park. Better but drop them down again. It's only meant to be background noise but keeps coming to foreground. Same goes for the ticking just needs to be subtle the audio is very busy at the moment.

I can hardly hear much background noise the ticking is very low and the car's passing by are car's passing by. I took what you said onboard and attempted to do something about it. Still not happy though.

Your written intro seemed to indicate this was what the whole piece was about, I got pretty bored waiting for it to arrive...

Do you recall me asking you in ep1 whether it was a parody? I wasn't taking the piss, I really thought it was a really good attempt at deliberately being crap, reading some of the other 'constructive' criticisms on here I don't think I'm in the minority...

If I was to offer advice I'd give up on taking yourself (Spicer) so seriously and present him as an really annoying bastard instead (you're halfway there already). Cut the airtime dramatically by at least five minutes and concentrate on one short but interesting piece each week...

Get in late, get out early...
