I know one of the chaps in in - he's speaks nothing but praise of how they're all dealt with.
ITV Show Me The Funny Auditions Page 2
When's this on then? Should be interesting...
I watched the first episode, was edited really bad ,didn't see most of the acts do their full 4 to 5 mins.the poor guy who got sent home must have felt like shit after the bashing from the judges. They know how hard it can be to go on stage especially doing a gig in front of all those Scouser birds.Must have been terrifying. If you guys fancy a giggle check out my videos on YOU TUBE.[no billy's wet dream] is my personal favourite.

Nature of the game, I'm afraid.
You can't really show 4-5 minutes of 10 people's acts in 55 minute slot (well you can, but little else).
It's also worth noting that, as one would expect from ITV, Show Me The Funny is more of a reality / talent-contest series than a comedy series, so it's hardly surprising that there's so little stand-up shown.
Anyway, this discussion should probably continue in a thread dedicated to the broadcast show in the appropriate forum rather than this thread, which was originally talking about the auditions...
One thing which I learned is some people should state they are a "comedian" others should state "I do comedy" or maybe they should even add "but I am not very funny" maybe even add a bit more "not only am I not funny as a comedian, I am actually less funny than several of your very own mates and yes that includes you Rebecca Brooks"
Ellie Taylor to win though. Her DVD will fly from the shop shelves, sorry be picked out of baskets quicker than others as you can still use it when your TV's lost the sound function. They may aswell deliver direct to the Spank Bank Head Office in Norwich
I am hoping they are been tactical with weak material to start with and growing as the competion develops
The problem with having the same people all the way through is when you've established they're not funny in episode 1 you probably won't watch again.

Not waiting to find out how she progresses and whether she is an intelligent and talented act? Very easy to write someone off into a pre-determined category.
She didn't shatter the earth with her material, but what she DID do is play to the audience perfectly, which is the name of the game. Interested to see how she does next week.
Tiffany Stevenson is brilliant (she MCs Old Rope in London), it's a shame there wasn't more of her.
Was Prince Abdi in the last FHM Comedy Hero contest?
I started a new thread for this in People and Stand Up, dunno if that's the right place, but it can always be moved.
Oh, and I demand all of you go post in it.
