Need some help placing this guy

I've had this routine in my head all morning:

"Where I'm from, we just have ambulances, which, kinda, ambulate. In England you have EMERGENCY ambulances, which, you know, emerge..."

I'm pretty sure the guy's Australian, so still technically British. :P This will annoy me all day if I don't find out who it is, any ideas?

Adam Hills?

Not sure why it's funny?
Ambulances are defined as EMERGENCY vehicles.
So saying EMERGENCY EMERGENCY vehicle is to emphasis that the vehicle is for EMEGENCIES, rather than a f**king taxi service.
It is probably due to the decades of poor education that they now have to say EMERGENCY twice and provide another 999 number so that the EMERGENCY 999 number is used for actual EMERGENCIES.

Whoever it is needs to get a day job. Jeez. Huh?

Not sure why it's funny?

Probably because about 93% of most comedians' jokes are in the delivery.

Read some of Eddie Izzard, Bill Hicks or Billy Connolly's material written down and it'd probably look pretty weak too.

Er...no.

Plenty of ambulances are used for non-emergency things like taking people back home from hospital or carrying people who need particular care from one place to another which doesn't have to be an emergency.

It's Tim Minchin...
