The one you see there is about £3000 to buy - just for the mattress.

:O

And here's me thinking that's a Dreams £120 one !

£3000 ?

Bloody Hell ! I'd want a woman included in that price (a nice one!)

:)

It appears that Spotify has finally hit the United States. Anyone use it? Likes or dislikes?

Love it. Use it all the time. :)

Since when did DJ Spoony start using his real name?

Answers on a postcard.

What's that Dejay Knifey?

Neville? :O

Isn't that a spell from Harry Potter?

Laughing out loud Just spotted this Bigfella

Clearing my late mother's house today, I came across my school report for 1962.

I like what the 'Scripture' teacher wrote . . . 'Cheerfully idle.'

:P

Scripture?
Were you at school in biblical times?

That is quite the quote for the CV though.

Reading old rockers report reminded me of a letter I once recieved from my bank. (dunno why)
I was always going overdrawn and the letter told me of the charges I was incurring.

It concluded with: Sir, we ask that you stop anticipating your salary.

Laughing out loud

You laugh but when I worked for Barclays in the early 70s, some accounts were marked with 'SAL'.

This was a salary anticipation limit overdraft and was, IIRC, about 20% of the due salary.

'swat it was called way back then.

I think it became RI (Religious Instruction) at some time.

Wonder what it is now?

Humanist Studies or some such crap.

In reflecting on the power of music and the live experience, I wrote a couple of paragraphs about a concert I attended back in the Spring. The performer was Claudia Brucken, formerly with the group Propaganda, along with members of OMD, Heaven 17, Erasure, Depeche Mode and others.

In reading back I'm wondering whether I've captured the essence of how I felt or just sound like a pompous arse. Some in the know will recognise a song reference or two but what about the pseudo Paul Morleyisms? I have to say his type of bonkers journalism as a career would suit me very nicely. :)

Sometimes you wake up just hoping your day will turn out OK, that you will reach its conclusion without suffering distress or pain. Very occasionally you will have your ultimate desires laid out right in front of you, your hopes and dreams played out before your eyes. Accepting that these pleasures will pass during the experience itself, is the bitter of this bittersweet life. The reverse is also true - there is no beginning without ending.

Back in March I witnessed my youth, my present and even my death throes all on one night. To me it really was a dream within a dream. Experiencing that warmth, that excitement, that emotion, made me sense that in that one instant, that there was no other place on Earth I wanted to be. If I'd been offered the world in exchange I would've turned it down. I still feel those feelings through the music played that night and for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you Claudia.

Ohhhhhhh, I was thinking it was some kind of handwriting lesson.

It was called RS (or RE) when I was at school.

My RS/RE teacher was nicknamed "The 6 foot-virgin". TRUFAX!
