They're all writers, so they can't.

They could if they were good writers though. ;)

I went through a stage of this - analysing everything - luckily I came through it and have started to enjoy things again. It's quite wierd actually, you find fault with everything. It's like looking at the Mona Lisa and moaning about the brush strokes.

I'm still a shit writer though, but a happier one. :D

Oi! Writers! Learn from jacparov. Don't get out of touch with what the public want. Some of you seem to have already, but it's not too late.

^^^ What exactly does the public want then ?

Got to agree with Seefacts on this one.

Writers should be taking half a year to a year to write six episodes. That's because it takes time to get it right, adding a little bit here, a little bit there, restructuring so it looks great when it gets on the screen. When you see output that seems to have been done pretty quickly like My Hero, Gavin & Stacey etc you feel let down and wonder what have they been doing all this time.

I too, still enjoy Friends and marvel how tightly written it is.

When the whistle blows presumably....I'd watch it. :D

And really it's a shit painting isn't it.

Funny stuff. Stuff that they can just watch. Sit back and watch, without having to look for any in-jokes, and doesn't require any particular brain power or thinking to understand. That's what stuff like My Family and The Green Green Grass offers, and why it's so successful. Other comedy types have their place of course, but not to such the same extent or in the same way.

Ahh that's ok then, I just wanted clarification and yes I agree with you completely.

Haven't seen much of the green green grass but what I have seen I have got a chuckle out off and My Family is just hilarious.

I cant get on with My Hero atall. Not my cup of tea I am afraid. My man likes it though.

He likes the idea of having "superpowers". ;)
