That's a pretty damn good translation program! Still, it couldn't find an equivalent for "fannying"!

Hey Kev,

Any news on which scripts will be performed yet?

I just asked them that very question. News tomorrow. Sorry to keep you on tenterhooks.

That was my favourite bit too. Translation programs, hours of endless fun.

Cutting it a bit fine! In 48 hours the shows will be finished and we don't even know who's on yet.

On a sort of related note, a friend of mine thought that the word 'tenterhooks' was 'tenderhooks'. He thought this well into his late twenties. We laughed at him when he realised the error of his ways.

And I'm really sorry I still don't know which scripts are in the show. I'm asking, I think they're still deliberating.

The Manchester team have decided the scripts they will be performing on Saturday July 2nd, they are:

Checkpoint Dave
Shock Treatment
Outgoings--ChristmasHit
Theatre of Dreams
Bi-Polar

As you can see these are the top five scripts as voted for by the online readers, and have been deemed the best five of the Top Ten by the team.

If the writers want comp tickets to the show email info@thelass.co.uk and Lisa or Gareth will sort you out.

Congratulations, see you there.

Thanks, Kev. And please extend my thanks to the team at the Lass O Gowrie.

Best of British luck to all those whose scripts are being performed. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend but I hope that everyone has a great night.

If anyone going is taking a video camera, I'd love some footage of "Shock Treatment" being performed.

Yeah, thanks Kev and hope it all goes well -- best of luck to everyone involved.

Sorry, but also can't make it to Manchester for tomorrow.

Dan

A lot of the scripts I read could have done with some big bits of dialogue broken up. James Cary goes into it here with examples: http://sitcomgeek.blogspot.com/2011/06/its-all-lies.html

Dan

Good luck to all. Come back and tell us how it went!

I'll be at the Sitcom Trials tomorrow. Alas, I don't have a video camera.

I don't know anybody in Manchester, so I'll be there lending lone support to "Checkpoint Dave".

Hope it's a good show. I've been 'invited' to work the late shift tomorrow so won't be able to get there either.

Best of luck Mr Ashdown and the other writers.
