Make us laugh and win €100

CheerReader is now on its third quarterly competition.

Following the popularity of the first two, we've decided to make the prize for the most humourous story €100.

Entry is still €5 and the closing date is midnight on August 31st. Maximum length is 1500 words.

For the full list of rules and regs, visit http://cheerreader.co.uk, where you can also read the winning entries from the first two competitions.

Get writing, have fun, and we hope to hear from you soon.

CheerReader- wagging the funny, making you smile.

You have to pay to enter? Wow, where do I put my credit card details?

I'm still a bit bemused that writers pay to enter contests. Can someone explain it to me?

Is it because it takes so long to read all entries?

I'd understand if the pooled money went towards the prize but these days it must be easy enough to find a sponsor willing to pay up £100 instead.

You may get your name on the cheerreader website. That's worth at least half a bottle of Madeira.
