Quote: Nat Wicks @ June 29 2011, 2:18 PM BSTNo I mean actual people who are customers, not just acts and their friends.
Why would I mean more working class?
Like Matt says, it's down to the night. Sure, there are a lot of gigs in London where the majority of the audience are friends of the performers but then there are gigs like that up and down the country. In any case, those people aren't your friends, so what does it matter? They're still audience, after all.
As for the working class thing, I was just trying to get a possible hook on your rationale. I've heard non London based comics complain about snooty southerners not laughing at their jokes and wondered if you shared that view. Clearly you don't, so apologies for any insinuation inferred.

It's weird when Bussell gets all sensible.

There's a very sensible person under this haircut.

No apology needed. In reality I sincerely doubt there's much difference between the average northern and London comedy audience.
I'm mainly basing my opinion on that of others if I'm honest. I've only been to one new act night in London and that was the Lion's Den, so I've only seen the worst side of the scale.

Yowzers, you really have! Personally I don't truck with the pay to plays (they don't really work for me, what with it taking 5 minutes just to set up shop for my act). There are plenty of lovely gigs here so don't be put off by the gongs.
I must check out your night next time I'm in the capital.
Some loud rough types have surrounded me in the seating area outside of Starbucks. I am displeased because I have 40 minutes to kill and they are loud and annoying. Aboo. The woman has so far told the same terrible joke 5 times. I'm not even sure it's a joke. She just keeps telling one bloke his legs are scaring the birds. Another fella is taking to himself and shouting at cars. Sigh.
Just Googled for "smug unfunny c**t".
Google has good judgement.
That's how I found this site.
I can't remember how I found this site. All I remember is that it seemed a more innocent time back then.

You'll probably see them in the audience later, so use the woman.s joke as a call back.

That's a haircut I'm sureb I've seen you feeding it.
Maybe it's Gnasher.

How do these spam bots decide which threads to post in? This is as good a thread as any to post spam in I suppose. 3 more posts for the mod's to delete by the looks of it, I wonder if they'll do the obvious thing...
Up at 3:30. Now waiting for the gate to open for our flight at 6:25. zzzzzz
Amsterdam, Nil?
