According to Arfur Daley, he was a 'nice little gurner'.
(I know, I know.......I'll get me virtual coat!)

Not from the TV series it isn't, imo. Palin gives him a serious run for his money. I think Cleese naturally stood out more, so this, and playing more dominant characters maybe adds to the common view that he was the most talented Python. ? If he was then it wasn't by that much, over Palin. Palin always seemed the most Pythonesque to me. He had that face.

Not because we dislike him in any way, just because we like the others a bit more.
He is for me. I remember as a kid watching and thinking more than once 'Who's this new bloke?' because he just didn't appear often enough to feel like a regular.
Have never watched it, but have seen clips, not too late am I? I like Palin and John Cleese from what I've seen.
I'd start on the films.
Life of Brian is the only one I know.

That and Monty Python And The Holy Grail are both great.

His animations are what makes the show so memorable. He might not have written sketches but he can claim equal shares in MP Ltd.
Thanks...will get cracking on them
In terms of post Python, Gilliam probably has the body of work I enjoy most. Brazil. Time Bandits. Jabberwocky. The Fisher King. Twelve Monkeys. Even his failures, like Baron Von Munchhausen are pretty interesting.
The animations are my least favourite part of MP
on the whole they simply aren't funny - so why bother
I always skip em'

Right! That's it. Get out. Go on. Be gone.
Eric Idle for me.
Although I think it generally goes
Cleese/Palin
Idle
Jones
Chapman
Gilliam
At least as to how funny they were in Python
I didn't like the animation either.
I couldn't give a favourite Python, but Palin as a spiv did it for me every time.
I couldn't choose a favourite Python. For me, it's like naming a favourite Beatle. To that question, I'd say Lennon, but no because their magic (like Python's) was in how the sum of the parts worked.
