London's rubbish, though. Okay for a day out, but nothing more.

Take it outside, Sourpuss!

You're rubbish.
F**king beautiful people walking around showing off their lovelyness. Bastards.
No offence to Londoners, but it would be hugely counterproductive for m to join the London open mic scene. In the North East I'm able to gig at pro nights, in frot of proper audiences and get a lot more valuable experience.

I suppose, but you can't gig half as much is all, and half the battle is getting up as often as possible to improve.

Don't hate us 'cos we're perfect.

You'll all be as ugly as I am inside eventually. Time does that to people.

Can't say I agree with this - provided you're good enough you can mix it up with the pros in the city - even someone like myself who's not been at it two years can share a bill with name comedians. Not sure what you mean by 'proper' audiences either. Larger? More working class?
No I mean actual people who are customers, not just acts and their friends.
Why would I mean more working class?

I suppose that just depends on the night, obviously there will be a lot of ones like that, but as I say, it's all stage time, which is the most important thing to start with.

It's a subject that is endlessly debated on Chortle. I want as much stage time as I can get, generally, but I'm of the opinion that all gigs are not all equal experience wise.
Says she who is on her way to Preston to do a gong show tonight. Oh well, it's a chance to be seen more than anything.
