Along with Robert Culp, Patrick Mcgoohan was always one of my favourite Columbo guests stars. I think they're both dead as well now.
RIP Peter Falk Page 3

Was he caught in a giant mouse trap or something?
I wonder what the equivalent drama would be in this country-a classy crime drama which brings in guest stars-don't think it's Agatha Christie or Midsomer Murders, far too sedate. Morse, probably.

There have been a few good guest stars in New Tricks.
There is no uk equivalent of Columbo.
Not even Bergerac?
I used to enjoy Columbo as a kid when I'd watch with my parents. But haven't seen it in years. Hopefully one of the channels will show some repeats in his honour. I agree with a lot of people on here, he was a genuinely good actor with great screen presence. Kind of like Rob De Niro's uglier brother. I love Princess Bride too, so he can't not be loved as an actor.
I'd like to rewatch some late period Columbos. I've seen the seventies ones umpteen times, but barely know the eighties and nineties ones.
The 90s one get a bit rubbish.
Is that when he teams up with Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder?

Especially not Bergerac (although Charlie Hungerford was ace).

It's on ITV3 every Saturday (repeated Sunday).
I'll keep an eye out for it.

There is a particularly bad on where he goes under cover. It's just not right.
My kids were upset that the grandpa in Princess Bride passed away. I feel bad they don't know him as Columbo.
